Thomas Bateman's museum records say that these five flints were found in Brown Edge barrow. Bateman's record of the excavation in 1848 mentions only two. So does his published catalogue of 1855. There is clearly some confusion in Bateman's own records, which is difficult to unravel.

Two of the flints are illustrated by Llewellynn Jewitt. These are the knife (top of image) and the arrowhead (right of image). These two are listed in the published catalogue. They were certainly found on the excavation. The others may have been forgotten by Bateman.
