Cairn T3 on Stanton Moor was excavated by J. P. and J. C. Heathcote between July and November 1929. It contained four burials, one in the middle and three on the west side of the cairn.

This urn was found in the central, presumably primary burial, numbered T3A. It was inside a larger urn found in a pit dug into the red subsoil. The larger urn also contained cremated bones, a burnt flint and the remains of a bronze dagger.
