This group of Late Neolithic objects is one of the most important found by Thomas Bateman. They were excavated at Liffs Low in 1843.
The finds are unique as a group. However, similar objects have been found in other Late Neolithic burials in Britain. The antler macehead is one of several known in this country. The small pot is unique. Dating it has been very difficult. This is always a problem with unique finds. Comparisons are made with similar finds instead.
