Time period : Anglo-Saxon
Material : Silver; Metal

This tiny silver object from Wigber Low is a strap-end. Metal strap-ends were used to protect the ends of leather straps when they were passed through buckles. This is a fairly simple example. There is no decoration except two bands dividing the object roughly into thirds.

It was found in a disturbed context during the excavation. However, it is certainly Anglo-Saxon and may have been disturbed by earlier investigation of the barrow.
