J. P. and J. C. Heathcote carried out work here between 1930 and 1933. They excavated the circle and cairn and found a number of burials in both. The material recovered included pottery, flints and a couple of faience beads. All this material gives a Bronze Age date for the burials at this site.

This group shows some of the best preserved objects from the Heathcotes' work. These include one of the many urns found, a barbed and tanged flint arrowhead and a star shaped faience bead.
