This fine example of a barbed and tanged arrowhead was found at Doll Tor stone circle. J. C. Heathcote and his son excavated here in the 1930s. The arrowhead was one of a number of objects not found with a burial.

The arrowhead may have been lost in antiquity. It could also have been disturbed by an earlier excavation. There was at least one known previous excavation of the circle. There may have been others which were not recorded. The arrowhead may have been moved from its original position at one of these times.
