The barrow at Cow Low contained an important group of rich Anglo-Saxon objects. Llewellynn Jewitt's watercolour is a useful historical record of these objects, especially those which do not survive.

At the top is the glass bowl, one of the few examples of such bowls found in this country. Below this are the gold and garnet pin set and the blue glass bead. Also shown are the full set of silver beads noted by Thomas Bateman in his records. Only the swirled pendant and two of the smaller beads survive today.
