J. P. and J. C. Heathcote excavated at Doll Tor stone circle between 1931 and 1933. They found a series of burials in the circle and the cairn immediately to the east. These burials were found with a range of grave goods.

This is one of the Bronze Age urns which they recovered. It is a relatively simple example of the type. It was found with another urn and a flint scraper. They were with the burial of a child in the eastern cairn.
