This is one of the glass beads found with the disturbed Anglo-Saxon burial in Galley Low barrow. Many Anglo-Saxon beads are multicoloured. This one is a lovely olive green colour.

The Anglo-Saxons liked glass beads. Many are found in their burials. However, their understanding of glass working was not as good as the Romans. There are impurities in the glass. These are the brown patches around the hole.
